To support grid reliability and affordability communications in the Iran war or broader
geopolitical context, the Reliable Grid Project (RGP) offers the messaging research,
resources, and guidance.

With the Iran war threatening global oil and gas supply for the immediate future - and
pushing already high energy bills even higher while also risking increased intermittency
issues - the Reliable Grid Project executed rapid response polling in partnership with Data
for Progress to assess current levels of concern over energy bills and reliability. We were
also interested in measuring how public opinion may be shifting on energy security views
from previous rounds of public opinion research. We believe that the current geopolitical
situation strengthens the domestic case for renewables, and the impacts to our energy
grid provide an opportunity to showcase the importance of renewables and battery
storage in protecting Americans from price spikes and intermittency during geopolitical
conflict.
