Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Changes to User Agreement:

In order to clarify the legal restrictions applicable to the Climate Advocacy Lab, the User Agreement has been amended to explicitly prohibit Lab members (“Authorized Users”) from using the Lab or its resources to engage in any activity which violates the restrictions on Section 501(c)(3) organizations. Therefore:

1. All Authorized Users are prohibited from using the Lab or its resources to engage in any electoral activities prohibited to charities, including supporting or opposing candidates for public office and any activity which results in private benefit to the Authorized User or others. However, section 501(c)(3) charities may use the material on the site to attempt to influence legislation only as defined in section 501(c)(3), 501(h) and 4911 and accompanying regulations.
2. Authorized Users may not include: announced candidates for any federal, state, or local office or their staff; no officials in federal, state or local political parties or staff of such political parties; federal, state or local elected officials, legislative staff, or government agency staff; people who are compensated by broadcast, print, electronic journalistic or commentary publications; or people who consistently advocate against actions to address climate change.
