A new analysis from the Energy and Policy Institute finds a sharpening disparity between utility corporations and their customers: investor-owned electric and gas utilities paid their CEOs $626 million in 2025. Top 10 paid utility CEOs received more than $220 million as customers struggled with and fell increasingly behind on energy bills.
The analysis includes:
