IRA Campaign & Organizing Insights
May 30, 2024
Across the US, communities are organizing around IRA opportunities, mobilizing support for clean energy, and building durable power. And they’re learning a lot about what works well (and not so well)! This week, we’re excited to share reflections and insights from our interviews with Autonomy Strategies (with Conexión and Voto Latino), Local First Arizona, Sustainable Georgia Futures, and Wisconsin Conservation Voters. Hat tip to our partner 89up for their work on this!

We analyzed $570,000 in IRA ad spend and found…
March 28, 2024
Over the past 20 years working in the climate movement, I’ve been part of both countless campaigns to secure a “transformational win” and countless attempts to support better sharing of data, testing, and other advocacy lessons learned. Today, the Lab is thrilled to launch a new IRA Data & Insights Hub in partnership with impact agency 89up, which collects and synthesizes IRA campaign data, translating the results into actionable insights to inform advocacy and communication strategies. A huge thank you to the 23 organizations (and counting) who have generously contributed their testing results to the Hub!

Transportation electrification insights
March 14, 2024
I recently traded in my plug-in hybrid for an all-electric model, marking the full transition of our household to electric vehicles (EVs)! Last year, EVs accounted for a record-high 7% of new car sales in the US. Climate advocates expect the Biden Administration to release final vehicle emissions standards that will put the US on a path toward a zero-emission transportation future in the next few weeks.
The Lab last covered research and insights related to EVs* in 2021. While many of our past recommendations hold up, the advocacy context has evolved significantly over the last 3 years! Read on for updates across the vehicle electrification space.
