In our final IRA Data & Insights Hub report of the year, we share how partners in our Field Research Program are building evidence-based messaging to persuade communities on the benefits of clean energy and climate justice solutions. Read below for highlights on what we’re learning at the doors and online from communities in New York, Maine, and New Jersey.

We’ve added 117 newly-published items to the Lab’s Resource Library since the start of this year—polls, social science papers, reports, case studies and more. Below we highlight key themes and some of the most notable resources.

The Lab wrote our first newsletter about the GND* way back in January of 2019 when we walked through how both the policy and the organizing happening around the climate, labor, and justice framework reflected a number of evidence-based best practices for building a powerful movement. And WOW, a lot of progress has been made since then – including a suite of policies and programs like solar for all, direct pay, and the new American Climate Corps – with the GND’s fingerprints all over them. We are collaborating on this week’s newsletter with our good friends at the Green New Deal Network (GNDN), who have been serving as the hub of the GND movement, turning regular people’s demands into policy wins since 2019.

In Cleveland, OH, the nonprofit Cleveland Owns is incubating the state’s first community-owned solar developer, Cleveland Solar Cooperative, which was the subject of a recent case study funded by the Climate Advocacy Lab. On this webinar, you’ll hear from the organizers who are running this experiment in Energy Democracy in Cleveland.
