Poll: Messaging the Clean Energy Plan in Arizona (and Georgia and Wisconsin)
There continues to be clear opportunity to boost support for clean energy in key states, with battleground voters shifting in favor of the Biden administration’s clean energy plan in response to positive messaging. In Arizona, support for Biden and Democrats’ clean energy plan increase 21 percentage points (from 39 to 60%) after reading about it. Similarly, support in Georgia increased 17 percentage points and support in Wisconsin increased 25 points. However, voters in these states are worried that clean energy policies might cost them more money in the short term.

Messaging the Clean Energy Plan in Michigan and Nevada
Battleground voters in Michigan and Nevada have heard little about the Biden administration’s clean energy plan, but quickly warm to it in response to positive messaging. Proof points about reducing costs, creating jobs, and improving the grid are particularly persuasive. Majorities of Michigan voters say that President Biden (58%) and Democrats in Michigan’s government (55%) are doing “too little” to address climate change. Majorities of Nevada voters say that President Biden (52%) and Democrats in Nevada’s government (53%) are doing “too little” to address climate change.

AANHPI Audience Research and Personas
Isolation and pain dominate what it means to be AANHPI. Connection to one’s heritage helps build confidence, but not necessarily pan-AANHPI identity. Asian American Futures and Activate California recently partnered to conduct audience research to better understand Millennial and GenZ Asian Americans as an initial step in our work. Despite being the largest demographic within the community, at 57% of all Asians in the US, this group is often overlooked in research and in political, narrative, civic and donor engagement. This polling aimed to close a knowledge gap in the movement; uncover narrative opportunities to build a shared vision for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities; and define audience personas that would help paint a nuanced picture of Millennial and GenZ AAPIs.
