Online to Offline Campaigning and Organizing
As digital tools get better and better at helping us reach and mobilize the right people, we need to ensure that our Facebook/Twitter/social media work connects them with powerful ways to take action: volunteering, lobbying, donating, and staying engaged over the long haul. United for Respect has successfully done this with workers in the retail sector. This training features an in-depth look at their Online-to-Offline organizing model, which has clear lessons for organizing climate activists.

This training, given in conjunction with New Media Mentors, focuses on how to use your Twitter activity to build relationships with reporters, be seen as a thought leader, and/or help push public and elected officials to do the right thing. Going viral isn't a given, but being intentional and strategic in your use of Twitter should be.
